An evergreen shrub or small tree with glossy dark green leaves and from the late Spring time having  deep yellow, vanilla scented flowers.

Full sun or partial shade.

All soil types.

Well drained or moist but well drained soil.

Maximum height 4-8m.  Maximum spread 2.5-4m.

Time to maximum height 20-50 years.
