Phormium Black Velvet

Evergreen. Leathery, sword-shaped, upright to arching, dark maroon leaves. Tall panicles of tubular,  reddish-purple flowers are seldom produced.

Partial shade or full sun.

Sand and Loam soils.

Well-drained or moist but well-drained soil.

Maximum height 0.9m. Maximum spread 0.9m. Time to full growth 10-20 years.
